Rasayana is the branch of Ayurveda focused on nourishing and strengthening the body, usually after a period of cleansing. This 21-day programme at an Ayurvedic retreat centre in Kathmandu includes both. It moves gradually from preparation and cleansing into personalised rejuvenation therapies, with nourishing meals, yoga, meditation and relaxation throughout.
Your treatment plan comes from an initial consultation and is reviewed in regular progress consultations, including a mid-retreat review on day 10 and another on day 16. Days combine personalised therapies such as oil massage and steam with gentle yoga, meditation, breathing and mindful movement. There is free time every day, and optional short excursions can be arranged on lighter days after discussion with your practitioner.
In the final week the focus turns to lifestyle guidance on nutrition, sleep, routine, movement and relaxation, so the benefits last after you go home. You stay 20 nights in premium accommodation with full-board Ayurvedic vegetarian meals, and airport pickup and drop-off are included.
Groups are small (1 to 10 guests), and the retreat runs all year.
