Indonesia · 21 days · From USD 1723
Each day follows a rhythm designed to build your practice and teaching skills step by step. Mornings start with meditation and pranayama to settle in, then move into a 75-minute Hatha or Vinyasa class. After breakfast, you dive into teaching methodology, learning how to sequence classes, cue, and hold space. After lunch, philosophy and anatomy sessions make the practice intellectually grounded—you study the Yoga Sutras, the 8 limbs, chakras, and functional anatomy that you can actually apply to the mat. Afternoons finish with teaching practice, where you start guiding small sections and build up to leading a full class by the final week.
What sets this training apart is the variety of yoga styles and the focus on teaching skills. Every week you get a 90-minute aerial yoga class on Ulu's custom-designed aerial swing—with cushioned padding, it's much more comfortable than traditional hammocks. Acro yoga is also included, which sounds intimidating but is taught safely and playfully, and it's a highlight for breaking the ice and building friendships. Yin yoga, Restorative yoga, and Yoga Nidra bring the pace down once a week, giving your nervous system a reset. The teaching methodology is a core strength—unlike many trainings where you only practice teaching at the end, here you start early and get constant, supportive feedback. The 30 hours of online study included in the course can be completed before or after the onsite portion, so you can review the material at your own pace.
The location is a big part of the experience. The shala has an ocean view, and you're a short walk or drive from Bingin Beach, a famous surf spot. In your free time (Saturdays are half-days, Sundays full days off), you can explore the surrounding area—Bingin, Padang Padang, and Uluwatu are right there, with cafes, warungs, and temples nearby. The accommodation options range from a budget-friendly shared room at Ocean View Paradise to a deluxe room with a private kitchen, or a superior bungalow at Lumbung Bukit, all within a short walk of the shala. The atmosphere is communal and supportive, and the teachers are described by guests as 'generous and committed souls' who genuinely care about your progress.
