22-Day Holistic Yoga Teacher Training in Lake Atitlán, Guatemala

The training follows a 3-cycle structure, each cycle blending four core areas: the Art of Practice (asana, pranayama, meditation), the Art of Living (philosophy, special topics), the Art of Teaching (analysis, sequencing, hands-on assists), and the Art of Healing (songs and ceremony). Each day starts around 6:45 AM with asana and pranayama, followed by philosophy discussion. Afternoons cover special topics like anatomy or Ayurveda, then move into teaching methodology. Evenings are often free, with one night per cycle dedicated to kirtan or ceremony.

What makes this training stand out is its integration of Mayan Cosmovision. You'll experience a temazcal (sweat lodge) ceremony, and cacao ceremonies, which are rare in standard yoga teacher trainings. The facilitators—Randi, Jiya, Jessi, and Ankati—each bring different strengths: Randi is an E-RYT 500 with over 25 international trainings under her belt, Jiya blends physics with shamanism, Jessi adds dance and Vinyasa, and Ankati brings sound healing and ecstatic dance.

The location is Tzununa, a small village on the lake's north shore. The center, Casa Kula, is an eco-friendly property with a permaculture garden, a temazcal, and a yoga platform with panoramic views. It's simple but well-cared-for, with shared and private options. You're a short walk from the village, where you can find local food, hiking trails, and the famous waterfall. The whole experience is designed to prepare you to teach anywhere in the world, with a global network of Kula Collective alumni and lifetime access to their online 200-hour library.
