22-Day Yoga Teacher Training in Kathmandu: Ashtanga, Vinyasa & Kundalini

Run by Himalayan Yoga Academy, the first yoga center established for spiritual and yoga tourism in Nepal (founded in 2007), this program stays true to traditional teaching while making it accessible to a modern audience. The syllabus covers the full 200-hour curriculum: techniques and training, teaching methodology, anatomy and physiology, and yoga philosophy. You'll practice asanas, pranayama, meditation, and mantra chanting daily, and also learn the business side of teaching yoga, so you're ready to start a career when you return home. The location is calm but lively, close to Kathmandu's bustling streets yet nestled against the jungle, with views of the city and mountains from the academy. The teachers — including founder Swami Yog Subodh, who has over 22 years of experience, and Swami, a meditation master — bring deep knowledge in traditional practices as well as Tibetan, Buddhist, and Zen approaches. Cultural excursions, like a visit to the Nagi Gumba monastery or a World Heritage sightseeing tour, break up the intensive study and give you a sense of Nepal's spiritual heritage. The food is vegetarian or vegan, home-cooked and fresh, and the guesthouse-style rooms are comfortable and clean.
