Home › Retreats › 23-Day 200-Hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in Ubud, Bali
Indonesia · 23 days · From USD 2143
The training grounds are set in the rice fields just outside Ubud, where the shala overlooks the jungle and green paddies. It's a peaceful spot, only reachable on foot, by bicycle, or scooter—cars stop at the edge of the path. The accommodations are simple but comfortable, run by local homestays that partner with YogaUnion. Expect clean rooms with hot water, free Wi-Fi, and fresh towels, all in contemporary Balinese style.
The day starts around 7:00 with an hour of pranayama, meditation, and mantra chanting. That's followed by a Vinyasa flow class that gets you moving. After breakfast and some personal time, you'll dive into asana analysis and adjustment theory—learning how to break down over 80 postures, including arm balances, backbends, and inversions. The afternoons alternate between philosophy and anatomy, and later sessions shift into restorative practice and workshops on things like handstands and hip openers.
What makes this course stand out is its focus on teaching from the very beginning. You'll start with one-on-one practice teaching, then move to smaller groups, and finally lead full open classes. Teachers give regular feedback on your cueing, adjustments, and class structure. With a crew of international instructors—Himanshu from India, Menik who's a Balinese doctor, Aakanksha who heads philosophy, and others—you get a range of perspectives. The food is hearty vegetarian buffets six days a week, with Sundays off to explore the local cafes.
The 200-hour program is registered with Yoga Alliance, so once you finish, you can register as an RYT-200. The training covers practice techniques, teaching methodology, anatomy, and philosophy, plus practical stuff like the business side of running classes. It's designed for all levels—you don't need to be an expert yogi, just committed. With group sizes between 10 and 30, you'll get personal attention.
