24-Day Holistic Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayas, Rishikesh

Rishikesh · 24 days · From USD 1099

The 24-day, 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Jiva Yoga Academy is a comprehensive program that blends two yoga styles with Ayurvedic study. You'll practice the structured, breath-synchronized sequences of Ashtanga Vinyasa and the slower, alignment-focused postures of Hatha Yoga. This combination gives you a broad toolkit for teaching, while the Ayurvedic component teaches you to understand different body constitutions (doshas), dietary habits for balance, and holistic ways to restore health.

The curriculum covers the full spectrum of yoga: asana, pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, philosophy (including the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita), and anatomy. You'll also learn shatkarmas—yogic cleansing practices like jala neti and shankha prakshalana. Teaching methodology is a core part of the training, with classes on how to demonstrate, observe, assist, and correct students. In the final week, the focus shifts to practical teaching, giving you hands-on experience leading classes and receiving feedback.

The school is located in Tapovan, a quiet neighborhood of Rishikesh a short walk from the Ganges. The property itself is simple and clean, with a yoga shala where most practice happens. The teaching team is led by experienced instructors from Rishikesh, each with years of practice and formal training. Vikash, the lead teacher, has over seven years of teaching experience, while Ramcharit Das brings 25 years of meditation practice and study under a master from the Himalayan tradition. They make themselves available for questions beyond class hours, creating a supportive, intimate learning environment.

The 200-hour course is registered with Yoga Alliance, which qualifies you to teach internationally upon completion. The 24-day length provides ample time to adjust to the rhythm of ashram life—early mornings, regular meals, and structured study—and to absorb the material. While the pace is demanding, with 95% attendance required, the schedule includes enough rest and free time to explore Rishikesh, visit the Beatles Ashram, or simply relax by the river.
