Rishikesh · 24 days · From USD 776
The 24-day program is structured around a detailed curriculum that moves through the key components of yoga teaching. The mornings begin with asana and pranayama, then a Hatha yoga class where you focus on alignment and teaching methodology. After breakfast, there are sessions on alignment, yoga philosophy, and ethics, followed by lunch and a rest period. The afternoons bring anatomy, Ashtanga and Vinyasa practice, then meditation before dinner. Evening self-study time lets you consolidate the day's learning. This structure runs consistently throughout the week, with Sunday excisions to temples and natural sites.
The training covers a lot of ground. You'll study the full Ashtanga primary series, postures by postures, from the opening sun salutations through the standing, seated, and finishing sequences. You'll also learn the classical Hatha asana set. Pranayama is taught progressively over the four weeks, moving from basic techniques into more advanced breathwork and chakra-focused practices. Other core topics include bandhas, yoga nidra, shatkarma (cleansing practices like neti and kapalbhati), yoga philosophy based on the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita, and anatomy and physiology. The teaching methodology sessions prepare you to lead classes safely and effectively.
What sets this course apart from a generic yoga teacher training are the teachers themselves. Rajesh Ji, the founder, is from Rishikesh and holds a 500-hour Yoga Alliance certification and a Master's degree in Yogic Science. Kalpendra Chauhan has 16 years of teaching experience, with ERYT 500 certification and a Master's from Uttarakhand Sanskrit University. Ravi Bisht brings 15 years of Hatha and Iyengar expertise, and Shubham Uniyal has a post-graduate degree in Yogic Science and has passed the UGC NET exam. All four are locals, steeped in the tradition, and they each bring their own specialisms to the course.
The location is a big part of the experience. Tapovan is known for its spiritual energy, and the school is just a short walk from the Ganges. The fresh Himalayan air, the mountain views, and the constant presence of the river create an environment that supports both intense study and rest. The food is sattvic—pure, plant-based, and free from stimulants—which keeps your energy stable through the long days. The training is rigorous, but the combination of expert teaching, a structured curriculum, and the Rishikesh setting means you come out not just certified, but with a genuinely transformed practice.
