25-Day Kundalini Yoga & Vedic Astrology Teacher Training in Rishikesh

Sri Yoga Ashram runs this 25-day Kundalini Yoga and Astrology Teacher Training in the Laxman Jhula area of Rishikesh. The course is intense by design: roughly seven to eight hours of classes daily, covering Kundalini Yoga asana, Hatha Yoga alignment in the Iyengar style, pranayama, Shatkarma (cleansing practices), meditation, mantra, philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology. The astrology module runs one hour each day as its own class, distinct from the yoga training.

The syllabus is detailed and traditional. You'll learn all ten major mudras, the five main bandhas, a full range of pranayama techniques from Nadishuddhi to Bhastrika, and a progression of asanas mapped to the seven chakras—from root chakra standing poses through to crown chakra headstand work. Sun Salutations are practiced with the twelve mantras attached to each position. The philosophy classes cover Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga, the chakra system, nadis, and the Panchakosha model, while anatomy classes are taught by Pradeep Kumar, who has a graduate and master's degree in yoga and specializes in biomechanics.

The astrology teaching is led by Dr. Gaurav, whose background in Vedic Astrology comes through in the structure of the module: you'll learn the nine planets and twelve houses, basic chart reading, prediction techniques, and horoscope matching. It is genuinely taught, not just talked about—a previous student mentioned taking the full course and finding it "structured and relatable."

The ashram environment is a big part of the appeal. Students, teachers, and staff live together, and there's a real sense of community.
