Rishikesh · 25 days · From USD 853
The 200-hour yoga teacher training at Samadhi Yoga Ashram covers a broad range of traditional yogic practices across 25 days. The curriculum is designed around Yoga Alliance standards, so you'll graduate ready to register as a 200-hour RYT and teach internationally. You'll study Hatha and Ashtanga asana with proper alignment, adjustments, and modifications; pranayama techniques; a range of meditation methods; yoga philosophy rooted in the Yoga Sutras and the Eight Limbs; anatomy and physiology; mantra chanting and mudras; teaching methodology, including class sequencing and cueing; Shatkarma cleansing practices; and an introduction to Ayurveda. It's a full syllabus, taught through a mix of practical classes and theory sessions.
What makes this training stand out is the depth of the teaching team. Founder Yogi Vishnu Panigrahi, born into a Brahmin family in Odisha, leads with a warm, traditional approach. Around him is a group of specialists: Dr. Hemlata, who blends classical Hatha with therapeutic yoga; Sujata, a former national-level gymnast who teaches naturopathy and acupressure; Umakanta, a Marma therapy and Mallakhamb (pole yoga) expert; and Kundalini teacher Rohit, who holds an M.A. in English Literature and an LL.B. in Law. There are also several other facilitators covering Vedic study, Ayurvedic diet, and prenatal yoga. You're not learning from one person's limited perspective—you're getting a range of deep specialties.
The ashram location adds to the experience. Rishikesh is often called the yoga capital of the world, and the ashram is in the Laxman Jhula area, on the quieter side of the Ganges with Himalayan views. The setting is spiritually rich, and the schedule includes shared activities like kirtan and movie nights. The food is 100% vegetarian, mostly sattvic, and prepared fresh daily. The accommodation is simple but comfortable, with basic shared rooms being the most affordable option. This is not a luxury resort; it's an ashram, and the simplicity is part of the point.
