25-Day Yoga & Astrology Teacher Training in Rishikesh

Sri Yoga Ashram runs this 200-hour teacher training with two tracks running side by side: Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Vedic Astrology. Each day you'll practice asanas, pranayama, meditation, and mantra chanting, while also studying the twelve houses, nine planets, and how to interpret a birth chart. The astrology teaching is led by Dr. Gaurav, who also serves as the ashram's host and brings a structured, approachable style to what can be a dense subject. Because the course is built around traditional Hatha alignment, you'll use props and focus on precise form in every pose, from standing postures to backbends and inversions.

The training is intense—expect close to eight hours of guided sessions daily, with philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology woven into the afternoons. You'll also have the option to swap some Ashtanga sessions for Kundalini Yoga, and there are optional add-ons like a Yoga Nidra module or an Ayurveda course, each running an hour a day for an extra fee. On Sundays, the group heads out to nearby sights in Rishikesh, so you get a feel for the town beyond the ashram walls.

The ashram sits in Laxman Jhula, a peaceful pocket of Rishikesh close to the river. With mountains on three sides and the Ganga on the fourth, it's a naturally quiet spot for a long, focused immersion. The staff—including Arpit, Eliza, and Dr. Gaurav—are known for going out of their way to help, whether that's arranging taxis to the train station or planning a side trip to Rajasthan. It's the kind of place where students often leave feeling more like family than classmates.
