Rishikesh · 27 days · From USD 1290
Nada Yoga is based on the idea that everything in the universe is vibration. This course teaches you to work with that vibration through chanting, mantra, and music. You'll learn the philosophy, practice sound meditations, and get hands-on experience with kirtans and bhajans. The curriculum also covers Sanskrit mantras, the basics of Indian classical music and ragas, and how sound can be used as therapy. There's an introduction to Ayurveda as well, to round out your understanding of yogic living.
The course is led by Bhuwan Chandra (Yogacharya), who has a Master's degree in Yoga from Uttaranchal Sanskrit University and is a professional Indian classical musician. He founded the Nad Yoga Trust in 2008 and organizes an annual International Yoga and Music Festival. He's known for his sitar performances and his ability to connect music with the chakra system. The school itself is in Swargashram, Rishikesh, a short walk from the Ganges and surrounded by forests and temples.
You'll be part of a small group of 20-25 students, so you'll get plenty of personal attention. The schedule is full but balanced, with morning asana and pranayama, afternoon philosophy and music lessons, and evenings for kirtan or self-study. The aim is to give you both the theory and the practical skills to teach Nada Yoga yourself by the end of the month.
The program is open to all levels. You don't need any prior music or yoga experience, just an interest in sound and its potential for healing and spiritual growth. It's a serious training for those who want to teach, but it's also a deeply personal journey for anyone looking to understand themselves better through sound.
