India · 28 days · From USD 2500
The course is structured around the 200-hour Yoga Alliance syllabus, but the delivery is entirely rooted in the Indian tradition. Mornings typically begin before sunrise with meditation and pranayama, followed by a long asana practice that cycles through hatha and vinyasa sequences. After breakfast there are philosophy lectures—the Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, tantric texts—taught by the school's senior teachers. Afternoons cover anatomy, teaching methodology, and supervised practice teaching, where you get used to standing at the front of the room and giving adjustments.
The tantra component is woven through the month, distinguishing this course from a purely asana-based training. Expect sessions on energetic anatomy, chakras, and the tantric worldview, taught in a way that connects to daily life rather than staying abstract. Because it is women-only, there is a different quality to the group dynamic—a freedom to ask questions and explore without the usual pressures. The school draws students from all over the world, and the small group size means you know everyone's name by day two.
The accommodation sits on the quieter edge of Rishikesh, a short walk from the Ganges and the Laxman Jhula bridge. Rooms are simple—clean beds, a desk for study, a balcony where you can watch the river—but you are not here for the thread count. Everything you need for a month of training is either in the room, the dining hall, or the yoga shala. Staff at the school live on site and handle any practical issue quickly.
