Mimamsa Yogshala's 200-hour training is rooted in the twin traditions of Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa, but it goes far beyond physical postures. Each day weaves together asana practice, pranayama, mantra chanting, anatomy, teaching methodology, and philosophy, treating them as one interconnected path rather than separate subjects. This integrated approach helps you understand how the breath, body, and mind support each other, both on and off the mat.
The teaching team is led by Manoj Rawat, who grew up with yoga and trained at the Bihar School of Yoga. He's joined by specialists in meditation, anatomy, Ayurveda, and mantra chanting, each bringing years of dedicated practice. The small group size means you're not just a face in the crowd—teachers offer hands-on adjustments and are available to answer questions about your own practice, teaching concerns, or the finer points of philosophy.
Classes take place in a dedicated yoga shala at the school's campus, which is located in a quiet neighborhood close to the Ganges River. The daily rhythm is steady and designed to build gradually. You'll start with the fundamentals of alignment and move toward leading your own classes by the final week. Sundays are mostly free, giving you time to rest, explore the local markets, or hike into the surrounding hills.
Beyond the core curriculum, the training includes extras you might not expect from a 200-hour course: a traditional Indian cooking class, a Reiki Level 1 initiation, and weekend excursions. Special sessions on aerial yoga, sound healing, and mud therapy round out the experience, as do the evening kirtans and community activities that turn a group of strangers into friends.
