Home › Retreats › 3-Day Yoga & Nature Escape on the Nahatlatch River, BC
British Columbia · 3 days · From USD 574
Days at REO Rafting & Yoga Resort follow a gentle rhythm. Mornings start with a yoga session on one of the outdoor stages—either at the river's edge or on a platform built above the rapids—with the sound of rushing water underneath your practice. After breakfast on the dining deck, you might join a guided hike along the Nahatlatch Canyon, follow a self-guided nature trail, or simply claim a hammock in the garden and read. Evenings bring another yoga class, a social hour with wine and appetizers on Monday and Wednesday nights, and a campfire where guests trade stories under a sky full of stars.
The yoga program is varied enough to suit every level. Hatha and Vinyasa classes build heat and strength, Yin and Restorative sessions wind you down, and meditation and pranayama focus the mind. Instructors come from all over the world, and the resort prides itself on teaching in a place that makes you feel connected to the earth beneath you and the river rushing past.
What sets this retreat apart is the setting and the history. Bryan Fogelman founded REO in 1983 after discovering the Nahatlatch—he called it the most fun and exciting river in BC—and the place still runs like a family operation. The glamping tents are constructed from hand-peeled logs and canvas, styled by local decorators, each with a private deck overlooking the river. You get fresh towels, linens, pillows, and blankets, plus lanterns for those evening conversations.
Location is everything here. You're tucked into a canyon in southern British Columbia, surrounded by forest and mountain, with a full mile of private river frontage. The resort is off the beaten track—so much so that the nearest town is 17 km away—yet it feels welcoming rather than remote. This is a place to unplug completely: no TVs, no cell signal (wifi is available), just the river, the trees, and the company of like-minded travelers.
