Home › Retreats › 3-Day Yoga & Thermal Spa Reset on Ischia's Volcanic Coast
Italy · 3 days · From EUR 552
The retreat runs for three days based at Hotel Torre Sant'Angelo in Sant'Angelo, on the island of Ischia. Each morning starts with an Ashtanga Vinyasa class timed to sunrise, and each evening finishes with a Yin Yoga session at sunset. That's two practices a day, every day, with the middle of the day left free.
What makes this different from a standard yoga weekend is the water. The hotel sits on five geothermal pools fed by volcanic heat, and access is unlimited throughout your stay. Soaking in thermal water after a morning of Ashtanga is the main reason people come here — it loosens up the deep tension that stretching alone doesn't always reach. Between the pools and the yoga, the physical side of the retreat is well covered without feeling like a bootcamp.
The setting does a lot of the work. Sant'Angelo is a small village perched on clifftops above the Tyrrhenian Sea, and the views from the property and the coastal paths are wide open Mediterranean. Guided sensory walks take you along the panoramic routes, and there's no pressure to do anything more strenuous than that. If you want to swim, the sea is right there.
Food is local and seasonal, drawing on Ischian produce and wines grown in the island's mineral-rich volcanic soil. Meals are included and treated as part of the retreat rather than an afterthought — expect Italian cooking with an emphasis on nourishment rather than restriction. Dietary requests can be discussed with the leader before you arrive.
The retreat leader is Alice Micheli, who teaches under the name LAlice Yoga. She has a background in biology and nutrition alongside her yoga training, which shapes how she teaches — you'll get some grounding in anatomy and why certain poses or sequences work the way they do. She runs several retreats in Italy, including a longer version of this one in Ischia and a week-long yoga and soul journey in Tuscany.
Practically, this works well if you're already in the Bay of Naples or want to add a few days to a trip to Naples or the Amalfi Coast. Ischia is a ferry ride from Naples, and the retreat is short enough to slot into a longer holiday. It also stands alone as a quick escape if you just need three days of yoga and hot water.
