30-Day Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy Certification in the Himalayan Foothills

30-Day Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy Certification in the Himalayan Foothills

Nepal · 30 days · From USD 1861

The training divides roughly into three streams running in parallel. Mornings start with movement — medical hatha yoga, pranayama, and shatkarma cleansing techniques — led by Bhuban, a certified Ayurveda health worker with six years of teaching experience. Mid-morning shifts to theory: classical Ayurvedic texts, dosha assessment, the logic behind seasonal and age-related diets, and how to build a personalised meal plan. Afternoons are hands-on: you'll observe and assist with Panchakarma therapies (Abhyanga oil massage, Shirodhara warm-oil pouring, herbal steam treatments) and eventually practise them yourself under supervision.

Dr. Damodar Ghimire, the residential physician, runs the clinical side. He trained at Nepal Sanskrit University and specialises in detoxification protocols and Himalayan medicinal plants. Every guest receives an initial consultation (Arogya Parikshana) to assess their baseline health and any contraindications. From there, your daily therapy schedule is tailored — some guests focus on digestive issues, others on stress or musculoskeletal pain.

The location matters as much as the curriculum. Lakuri Bhanjyang sits above the smog and noise of Kathmandu, surrounded by forest and natural springs. The air is noticeably cleaner, and the pace is slow. Between sessions you can wander the gardens, read in the library, or detox further in the herbal steam room. Meals are Nepalese vegetarian — dal bhat, seasonal vegetables, herbal teas — prepared by an in-house cook who adjusts portion sizes and ingredients to support your individual treatment.

The month ends with a certification ceremony and a post-retreat roadmap: practical recommendations for continuing your practice at home, including safe self-detox techniques you can do without a clinic. Alumni get ongoing support from the team if questions come up later.
