Home › Retreats › 30-Day Traditional Yoga Teacher Training on Malaysia's Morib Beach
Malaysia · 30 days · From USD 6209
The World Yoga Association runs this 30-day training at a beachside resort in Banting, Selangor. It's a structured, traditional approach to yoga — not just physical postures, but the full spectrum of yogic science. Each day starts with shatkarma (internal cleansing), followed by pranayama, then two asana practices before breakfast. The afternoon includes anatomy, philosophy, and teaching methodology, and the day ends with meditation and Yoga Nidra.
What sets this course apart is its depth and variety. You'll study thirteen different yoga styles, from the familiar Hatha and Ashtanga to the more philosophical Jnana and Bhakti paths. You'll also learn about the Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. With a focus on teaching practicum, you'll get plenty of practice leading sessions and giving adjustments before you graduate.
The location at Morib Beach is quiet and authentic, a working seaside area that's popular with day-trippers from Kuala Lumpur but far removed from the tourist hustle of places like Bali. The resort has a pool, gardens, and a restaurant, and the beach is a five-minute walk. The program includes free airport pickup and drop-off from KLIA, about 45 minutes away.
Meals are sattvic — vegetarian and vegan — with fresh local fruits and Malaysian dishes. The food supports the intense schedule, and afternoon tea breaks with snacks are a welcome pause. Students stay in comfortable private chalets with air conditioning and hot water, which makes a big difference after long days of practice.
