Home › Retreats › 300-Hour Advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in a Bamboo Eco-Village, Ubud
Indonesia · 31 days · From EUR 3100
The days follow a fixed rhythm. You start before dawn with a cup of detox ginger tea, then move into early-morning pranayama led by Dipali, an Indian philosophy and breathwork teacher who topped her Post-Graduate Diploma in Yoga Education and later took a Master's in Yoga from Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University. From there the day splits between academic study and intensive practice — Patanjali and Hatha texts, anatomy and alignment, asana labs, teaching methodology, meditation and shuddhi kriyas — winding down with evening self-meditation.
The curriculum is genuinely text-heavy. You read the Yoga Sutras and the two main Hatha manuals (Pradipika and Gheranda Samhita), cover Ayurveda fundamentals, and do practical work in mantra, therapeutic sequencing and the cleansing kriyas. Marlen, an E-RYT 500 with over 1,200 hours of training, teaches the anatomy and alignment side, bringing in myofascial release, lymphatic drainage and nervous-system regulation alongside the classical material. Shailesh, from Rishikesh, runs the asana lab and teaching methodology, drawing on a Yoga Sciences degree and a six-month yoga-therapy internship in a Himalayan hospital.
What makes this different from a standard 300-hour is the lineage and the depth of the faculty — several of them trained or lectured at Kaivalyadhama College in Lonavla, one of India's oldest yoga institutions. It leans traditional and scholarly rather than studio-fitness, so if you want precise, text-backed knowledge rather than flowy sequences, this is the right fit.
The location adds a real cultural layer. You take part in a Balinese water purification ritual and a traditional fire ceremony, and two Sundays are given over to excursions. The village itself was founded by Ludwig, who spent over ten years with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and the grounds are built around that contemplative intent — a meditation maze, a sound dome, relaxation areas dotted through the gardens.
After the 31 days of training, there is a complimentary three-day sound healing course led by Simon, who learned Tibetan singing bowl therapy in Rishikesh and holds a diploma in energetic health from Nature Care College in Australia. It comes with its own accommodation and meals, so you can stay on and add a skill without paying extra.
