Rishikesh · 28 days · From USD 1120
This 300-hour yoga teacher training in Rishikesh is built for people who've already done a 200-hour course and want to go deeper. The focus is on Ashtanga yoga——you'll revise the primary series and then move into the intermediate series——along with Vinyasa flow and Hatha practices like the Pawan Muktasana series and the 32 yogic asanas, with attention to alignment and hands-on adjustment. It's a practical, teaching-focused curriculum: you'll cover yoga anatomy, philosophy, and the art of teaching, and in the final week you'll lead your own demo class to put it all together.
A typical day starts at 6am with kriyas and pranayama, moves through a long asana class, and then into workshops on philosophy and anatomy after breakfast. Evenings are given over to Ashtanga intermediate series, alignment practice, and meditation, with dinner served around 7:30pm. The routine is intense but consistent, and the small group means you get plenty of personal attention from the teachers.
The teaching team is led by Sarvottam Kumar, an ERYT-500 certified instructor who focuses on meditation, with support from locals like Dr. Yashpal, a gold medal-winning Ashtanga teacher, and Naveen, who teaches Vinyasa. They've trained hundreds of teachers over the years, and they're known for being patient and approachable. The school itself is simple and comfortable, with a yoga deck and everything you need within walking distance——cafes, a market, and the Laxman Jhoola bridge about 15 minutes away. Two group excursions are included during the month, usually on Saturdays, to help you see a bit of the area without missing training.
