300-Hour Therapeutic Yoga & Ayurveda Teacher Training in South Goa

India · 29 days · From USD 2690

The course is structured around five-and-a-half training days per week, with a rest period from Saturday afternoon through Sunday. Each day follows the same rough shape: meditation and breathwork at 6:30am, a 90-minute asana class at 8:30am (alternating between Ashtanga-style primary series and vinyasa flow), breakfast at 10am, then lectures and practice teaching until lunch at 1pm. Afternoons pick up at 3:30pm with more lectures or posture clinics, followed by a gentler evening practice — often Yin, restorative, or yoga nidra — before dinner at 7pm. Some evenings include kirtan, cacao ceremonies, or fire ceremonies.

Olivier Charles is the lead teacher. He's been teaching yoga teacher trainings for 12 years, including seven years at Sampoorna Yoga and five at Earth Yoga Village, both in Goa. He's a certified yoga therapist and Ayurvedic health counsellor who completed Tom Myers' Advanced Yoga Anatomy course. He discovered yoga in London in 2003 while recovering from back pain and running injuries, and now runs a yoga retreat centre and studio in Japan with his wife. Past trainees describe his classes as creative and challenging, with a strong focus on functional anatomy and alignment cues.

Sunita Singh assists with teaching. She started practising yoga in 1991 at Vishwayatan Yoga Ashram in Delhi under Swami Dhirendra Brahmachaari, learning a kriya-heavy style called Suksham Yoga. She later trained in Kundalini Yoga and now teaches in Dharamshala during summers and Goa during winters. Dr. Vijay Nambiar leads the Ayurveda sessions — he was born into a traditional Vaidya family, trained at Prayag Mahavidyalaya, and has run the Kailas clinic at Bhakti Kutir for 20 years. His sessions cover dosha assessment, daily routines (dinacharya), and how to integrate Ayurvedic principles into yoga sequencing.

The curriculum doesn't follow one fixed sequence. Instead, you learn how to build sequences yourself based on functional anatomy, energetic principles, and the needs of real students. Weekly supervised teaching practice and peer observation are built in, and the course ends with both a practical and written exam. Upon completion, you can register as an RYT-500 with Yoga Alliance.
