Home › Retreats › 4-Day Jungle Wellness Retreat with Yoga & Sacred Balinese Water Rituals in Tabanan, Bali
Indonesia · 4 days · From USD 588
The retreat takes place at Bali Secret Jungle, a small collection of wooden cabins set into a tiered hillside garden in Tabanan. The property is surrounded by rice fields, cacao plantations, and jungle, with a river somewhere below. It was built with over 70% reclaimed wood, and many of the experiences are led by people from the nearby village of Gunung Salak. There's no road noise here—just the sounds of birds, water, and the occasional motorbike carrying a guest's luggage down the jungle path.
Each day follows a gentle structure. Mornings begin with yoga in the open-air shala, followed by breakfast and an activity—a guided nature walk, a Melukat water purification ceremony at a hidden waterfall, a Canang Sari workshop, or a Balinese cooking class. Afternoons leave time to swim in the jungle-view pool, nap, or take a traditional Balinese massage. Evenings include Trisandya meditation at sunset and dinner made with local ingredients.
The spiritual side is real and grounded. The Melukat ceremony is performed by Jero Mangku Arjuna, the Hindu priest from the village temple, and it takes place at a waterfall you'll reach by walking through rice fields and jungle. He also leads the sunset Trisandya meditations. If you're curious about Balinese Hinduism, this is a genuine way to learn about it from someone who practices it daily, not a staged performance for tourists.
Benjamin Ariowibowo, the co-founder and host, is on site throughout your stay. He started the retreat after his own struggles with stress and modern life, and he found healing in these same forests and rivers. He's a warm presence who will help arrange anything you need—whether that's a scooter ride for your luggage or a special meal for your dietary requirements.
Reviews from previous guests often mention the team—Ghni, Rizky, and Restu—who go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable, fed, and never lost. One guest wrote that the team spent three hours sourcing pescatarian ingredients from local farmers for her cooking class. Solo female travelers have stayed and said they felt safe from the moment the airport driver picked them up.
