India · 4 days · From USD 374
The retreat is set in Palampur, about 45 kilometres from Dharamshala airport, in a quiet jungle area beside a river. The property is surrounded by forests and has views of the mountains, with a constant soundtrack of flowing water. It's a simple, peaceful spot that's also less than ten minutes from the town, so you can easily step out if you need anything.
The schedule is structured but not rigid. An average day begins at 6am with personal time or a walk. A 90-minute therapeutic or flow yoga session follows at 7am, tailored by Ananta to address any physical or emotional issues you've brought with you. Breakfast is at 8:30, and then from 10am until 1pm there's a block of workshops and practices: self-awareness learning, bodywork sessions, and pranayama or breathwork. Lunch is at 1pm. The afternoon continues with a meditation session around 3pm, then tea, an open house Q&A at 5pm, and self-study time at 6pm. Dinner is at 7:30, and the day winds down with a night meditation or ecstatic dance at 9pm.
What sets this retreat apart is the emphasis on emotional and psychological exploration, rather than just physical yoga. The program includes specific elements like EBRR (Emotional Body Release & Refresh), BPSC (Body Power Source Cleansing or Hara Massage), and OIAC (One-on-One Intensive Aware Counselling). These are designed to help you release stored emotions and get clear on things like limiting beliefs. Ananta works individually with guests during their stay, and many reviewers mention feeling that their specific concerns were heard and addressed.
A word from the host: they recommend arriving a day before the retreat starts to settle in and get the most out of the program. The retreat also includes a 'Life Clarity Session' with Ananta when you book through this platform, along with pre- and post-retreat support from the team. It's not a retreat where you'll be doing a lot of physical activity like hiking—the focus is on inner work and stillness, though there are opportunities for nature walks in the area.
