Home › Retreats › 4-Day Wellness Escape with Daily Yoga in Marrakech's Palmeraie, Morocco
Marrakech · 4 days · From USD 806
The retreat is built around the 'Yoga with Perumal' method, which Ines learned directly from Perumal Koshy over ten years of daily practice. This isn't a flow-through-the-motions class sequence; each of the five lessons has a specific focus — joint preparation and stretching on the first evening, core and backbends the next morning, leg sequences, upper body strength, then twists and meditation. Classes run for about 90 minutes, twice a day, and every session ends with meditation and relaxation. The method is designed so beginners and experts can practice side by side, with an emphasis on protecting joints, building strength gradually, and understanding why you're doing each posture rather than just copying it. Because the group is small, sequences get adjusted to whoever is actually in the class. Ines will also spend time on the theory — the eight limbs of yoga, pranayama, chakras, bandhas, and mudras — so you leave with a much clearer sense of what the practice is about, not just a sore hamstring. The venue is a genuine highlight. Jnane Tamsna was one of the first boutique hotels in Marrakech and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, Vogue, and Condé Nast Traveller. The rooms are individually decorated, the gardens are full of fruit trees and flowers, and there are five pools scattered around the property. Evenings are quiet: a drink by the pool, a walk through the gardens, dinner at the long table. You're not tied to the schedule either — the afternoons are completely free, and if you want to explore the city, the hotel can arrange a guide to the medina, or you can just read by the pool. The whole thing is all-inclusive for breakfast and dinner, and the food is genuinely good — seasonal vegetables from the gardens, Moroccan dishes with a Mediterranean spin, all cooked by the in-house chef. The climate in Marrakech means you can practice outside for about ten months of the year, and there's a yoga shala for the odd day when it's too hot or cold.
