United Kingdom · 4 days · From USD 1517
The retreat runs over four days and three nights, beginning on a Thursday afternoon and ending on a Sunday morning. Each day follows a rhythm that balances movement, emotional work, rest, and time outdoors. Mornings might start with a gentle yoga practice, followed by a long, unhurried breakfast. The middle of the day is often given over to a sharing circle or a guided workshop, with the afternoon free for a nature walk, a nap, or a wander down to the river. Evenings bring candlelit yin yoga, sound baths, or gatherings around the fire.
What makes this retreat different is the emphasis on sisterhood and emotional depth. The sharing circles aren't optional extras—they're the heart of the experience. Star is a human-centred therapist, and she creates a container where women feel safe enough to be vulnerable. Several guests have described it as the first time they felt truly seen and heard. There's also a strong focus on rest: the schedule is designed so you're never rushed, and there's space to simply be.
The location is a big part of the experience. Erth Barton sits on a private peninsula with 300 acres of farmland, surrounded by the River Lynher. There are no public footpaths, so you have the land to yourself—just fields of wildflowers, oak woodlands with fallow deer, and owls calling across the river at night. The house itself is a Jacobean building with large granite windows looking out over the tidal river, and the property includes a 12th-century chapel that's used for ceremonies.
Star leads the retreat herself, supported by private chefs Terry and Anthony, who cook all the meals from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. It's a small operation, and the personal attention shows. Most guests come alone, and it's the kind of place where you quickly feel part of something. You'll leave with a tote bag and a notebook, but also with the sense that you've done something real for yourself.
