5 Day Jungle Yoga & Wilderness Escape in Rio Dulce, Guatemala

The retreat is built around daily Rocket Yoga, a dynamic and playful style born from the Ashtanga tradition. For five days, you'll flow in an open-air shala built high in the trees, with the jungle as your backdrop. Classes are led by Caro Gómez, a Level II authorized Ashtanga teacher who trained in Mysore, India, and also holds a 100-hour Rocket certification. Her style is firm but gentle, so whether you're a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, she meets you where you are.

Beyond yoga, this retreat is a full immersion into the Rio Dulce wilderness. You'll sail through dramatic canyons aboard The Host, the family's boat, swim in natural hot springs, and hike with a local guide. Evenings bring temazcal ceremonies, starlit bonfires, and quiet moments watching the sunset near Castillo de San Felipe. The pace balances slow and fast, with everything optional—you're free to skip a session and just float in the river if that's what you need.

What sets this retreat apart is the setting and the family. Casa Natura is an eco-friendly house with solar panels, set on the water with a pool, jacuzzi, and gardens. The Rodríguez family treats guests like extended family, preparing meals, arranging logistics, and making sure you feel at home. It's the only family-run wellness retreat in the area, and it shows in the personal attention.

The retreat runs mostly in Spanish, with an English translator available on request. It's a small group of 6 to 18 people, so you'll get individual attention and the chance to really connect with the other guests.
