Home › Retreats › 5-Day Red Rock Adventure & Yoga Escape in Southern Utah & Arizona
United States · 5 days · From USD 1807
The retreat starts with a pick-up in Salt Lake City and a scenic four-and-a-half-hour drive south to the retreat home near Zion National Park. The home is in a private gated community within the Zion Ponderosa Resort area, which means you're close to the park's east entrance but away from the busiest crowds. The first evening sets the tone: a welcome orientation, a gentle evening yoga session, and dinner. From there, each day has a different adventure, but the rhythm stays the same—yoga in the morning, a big day outside, evening yoga, and a group dinner.
Day two is all about pushing your comfort zone a little with a rappelling adventure in Elkheart Canyon. It's beginner-friendly and all the gear and instruction are provided, so you can try slot canyon rappelling without any experience. After a morning of descending through the sandstone, the afternoon is free to rest, journal, or just hang out at the house. Day three is a full-day trip to Arizona to see Lower Antelope Canyon, a guided walk through one of the most photographed slot canyons in the world, followed by a visit to Horseshoe Bend, where the Colorado River makes its famous dramatic turn. The guide handles the logistics, so you just have to take in the views.
The fourth day brings two very different adventures. In the morning, you'll head to Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park for sandboarding or a walk across the dunes. After lunch, it's off to Kanarra Falls, a slot canyon hike that involves wading through water and climbing a few ladders—it's challenging but incredibly rewarding. The final day is a bit more relaxed, with two short hikes in Bryce Canyon National Park: the gentle Mossy Cave Trail and the Bristlecone Loop, which winds through ancient trees with wide canyon views. Then it's the drive back to Salt Lake City, arriving in time for you to catch an evening flight home.
What makes this retreat stand out is the balance it strikes. It's active, but every excursion is optional, and the yoga is woven in to support your body rather than being the sole focus. The retreat is hosted by Shantel, a certified yoga instructor and fitness coach, with meals prepared by Amber, a professional chef and health coach. Together, they've created a trip that feels adventurous without being intimidating, and the small group size means you'll likely leave with new friends. Guests consistently mention the strength of the community and the sheer beauty of the landscapes as the highlights.
