5-Day Seaside Yoga & Wellness Escape on Italy's Adriatic Coast

Italy · 5 days · From EUR 600

A typical day starts at 8:00 with pranayama — twenty minutes of breathing work before you have properly woken up. Then into asana practice until 9:30, followed by breakfast at the hotel. From 10:30 you have free time: walk the few minutes to the beach, hire a bike, book an Ayurvedic massage, or head into town. There is a yoga theory session around 11:30, lunch at 12:30, and then a long rest until the afternoon practice at 16:30. Guided meditation runs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 18:00, and dinner is served at 19:30.

The classes move between styles across the week — Hatha for alignment and foundations, Ashtanga for discipline and stamina, Vinyasa for flow, Yin for deep release. That mix is what separates this from a single-style beach retreat: you get a broader look at what yoga can be, which suits people who are curious rather than committed to one method. Complete beginners are welcome and experienced practitioners will not be bored.

The accommodation comes through a partnership with Hoy Hotels, a local group with six hotels in Misano Adriatico. In spring and autumn (roughly Easter to 10 May, and 10 September to the end of the season in late October or early November) guests stay at Hotel Ariston, the only property open year-round and located in the centre of town. From about 10 May to 10 September the base moves to Hotel Arno, a short walk from the beach. Both offer single rooms, double rooms, and double rooms for single use. Rooms at both hotels are simple, bright and comfortable rather than luxurious.

Misano Adriatico sits on the Bologna–Ancona railway line with its own station, about 950 metres — roughly a 15-minute walk — from the accommodation. Rimini Federico Fellini Airport is 15–20 minutes away by car; Bologna Guglielmo Marconi is the airport most international guests use because of its wider flight network. The town itself is relaxed and unhurried, with sandy beaches, cafés, shops and the Romanian seaside towns of Riccione, Rimini and Cattolica within easy reach by car or train. San Marino is also a feasible day trip if you want to break up the week.

Meals are Mediterranean, served across the hotel restaurant, the beach restaurant and other restaurants in the same hotel group. There is a heavy emphasis on vegetarian and vegan dishes with fresh vegetables and light recipes, but fish and meat are available for anyone who wants them. Gluten-free and lactose-free meals can be provided with notice. Unlimited water is included with meals; coffee and other drinks are extra.
