Home › Retreats › 5-Day Silent Meditation & Classical Yoga Retreat in Ubud
Indonesia · 5 days · From USD 560
Each day follows the same gentle rhythm: morning meditation and breathwork, a simple breakfast in silence, midday practice, lunch, rest, afternoon sitting, dinner, and evening meditation. The structure is there to support you, not to fill every hour. There's plenty of space to sit on your own, journal, or just watch the rain come through the trees.
What sets this apart from other meditation retreats is the focus on classical Raja yoga rather than modern wellness trends. Nana guides you through the eight limbs — starting with the ethical foundations (Yama and Niyama), moving into posture and breath (Asana and Pranayama), then withdrawal of the senses (Pratyahara), concentration (Dharana), meditation (Dhyana), and finally an introduction to Samadhi. It's taught lightly and practically, not as philosophy lectures but as something you actually do and notice.
The emphasis on finding your seat is refreshing. Before you start meditating, you'll spend proper time with cushions, bolsters, blankets, blocks, or a chair to find a position where your spine can rise without strain and your body won't keep demanding attention. This isn't about sitting perfectly on the floor — if a chair works better for you, that's what you use.
Nana brings over 15 years of yoga experience, with roots in traditional Hindu yoga through her family's priestly lineage. Her teaching style is quiet and grounding. She's not trying to push you toward a particular experience or achievement — just creating the conditions for you to settle and observe what's actually there.
The location is a peaceful garden property in Ubud with a pool, yoga shala, and restaurant on site. Nothing flashy, just a calm place that supports the inward focus of the week.
