Indonesia · 5 days · From USD 733
The training runs for five days and four nights in Ubud, Bali. Each day starts at 5:00 with yoga sadhana, moves into Yin practice and pranayama, then splits time between philosophy, sequencing, and anatomy. Afternoons cover the meridian system and Yang yoga, and evenings close with meditation and reflection. It's a full schedule, but the pace is calm and the group small.
The curriculum is the core of the program. You'll cover the history and philosophy of Yin, the Yin/Yang organ systems, chakras and nadis, and the practical side of teaching. The pose workshops walk through all 27 Yin asanas, including Camel, Caterpillar, Dragon, Sphinx, and Frog, with breakdowns on alignment, props, and modifications. You'll also learn sequencing, voice and instruction technique, and how to manage a class. The anatomy section looks at the skeletal and myofascial systems, connective tissue and fascia, and the pelvic girdle, which is where Yin gets its reputation for deep release.
Yogi Ranjan leads the training. He is a Yog Aacharya and an Isha Foundation alumnus, with over a decade of teaching experience and time studying under gurus across India. His teaching is rooted in classical yogic science but the course is structured for modern students. He is supported by the rest of the Yogalayaa team, and the school has an Eco-friendly certification.
Accommodation is at Budhi Ayu Villas Ubud, a short distance from the training venue. Rooms are air-conditioned with private bathrooms, and some have terraces or balconies overlooking the pool or gardens. The property sits among rice fields, so there is greenery around. The training venue itself has a yoga shala, garden, pool, and free WiFi.
Meals are vegetarian and served three times a day. The food is sattvic, meaning fresh, seasonal, and minimally processed, with a focus on energy and clarity. Coffee, tea, water, and detox juices are included. The menu is plant-based and avoids onion, garlic, and heavy spices, which is standard for a yogic diet.
