5-Day Yoga, Sound & Spa Retreat in the Catalan Countryside, Girona, Spain

The retreat base is La Cura, a 500-year-old Catalan Masia that has been thoughtfully renovated into a design-led wellness space. The name means 'the cure' in Catalan, and it lives up to it. The yoga room is large, light-filled, and opens onto the garden, with space for twenty eco cork mats and six to eight yoga hammocks. There's also a dedicated Pilates corner with two clinical reformers and Wunda chairs, and an attached sauna that leads to an outdoor shower.

The daily schedule revolves around two practices. Mornings run for two hours and rotate between Jivamukti, Vinyasa, and 4Beat Rocket, so there's variety in style and energy across the week. Evenings are more restorative, with Yin, meditation, or sound healing. Afternoons often feature optional workshops on subjects like arm balances, headstands, pranayama, and aerial yoga. One full day is usually set aside for the beach on the Costa Brava, about 20 minutes away, which the group decides on together.

Nicole and Alice are the two teachers. Nicole trained her first 200 hours at Sampoorna Yoga in Goa in 2015 and has since added Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, Yin, Sound Therapy, Thai Massage, and Reformer Pilates to her skill set. Alice has been teaching in London studios for six years since her Ashtanga Vinyasa training in 2017, with a teaching style that keeps the breath central. Both bring a relaxed, non-preachy approach that regular guests seem to appreciate.
