50-Hour Breathwork & Somatic Yoga Teacher Training in Ubud's Rice Fields

Indonesia · 7 days · From USD 1014

The course is built around the idea that you learn best by doing. Each day follows a steady rhythm: gentle somatic movement and breathwork first thing in the morning, followed by breakfast and time to journal, then a longer block of theory, sharing circles, and discussions. After lunch you get into interactive teaching practice, where you work with your peers to practice holding space and guiding breathwork sessions, and the day wraps up with a group integration session before dinner. It's a lot of learning, but the structure keeps it digestible, and there's always room to ask questions and go at your own pace.

What makes this training different is how thoroughly it blends breathwork with somatics. Rather than treating them as separate disciplines, the curriculum is built around the link between the two—how trauma and stress get stored in the body and how conscious breathing and movement can help release them. The trauma-informed approach is woven throughout, so you learn not just the techniques but also how to work with people safely, with attention to consent, boundaries, and the nervous system. You'll also learn some myofascial release and co-regulation practices, which adds a genuinely practical toolkit you can use in one-on-one sessions.

The location is a real draw. The shala and your homestay are set in the rice fields on the edge of Ubud, reached by a footpath rather than a road. You're surrounded by green, working rice paddies and the sounds of the countryside. The teaching space is open-air, and the restaurant serving your meals is part of the same small community of buildings, so you rarely need to leave during the training days. There's also a lovely community feel—people come from all over the world, and the group size is capped at 30, so it stays intimate.

The main teacher is Ourania Bouzouki, who founded YogaUnion together with Spyros. She has been practicing yoga since the mid-1990s and trained in India, and has been running international teacher trainings since 2010. She lives in Bali now and teaches many of the courses herself, supported by a small team of experienced teachers. All the instructors are well-versed in their fields, and the reviews consistently mention how good the teaching and the food are.
