Home › Retreats › 50-Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training in the Eifel National Park, Germany
Germany · 6 days · From USD 1300
The core of the week is learning the 26 Yin Yoga asanas — think caterpillar, swan, and frog — and how to teach them safely. You'll break down each pose, look at alignment, and practice verbal and hands-on adjustments. Props like blocks, bolsters, and blankets are a big part of the method, and you'll learn how to use them to make the practice accessible for different bodies.
Anatomy gets proper attention. Katharina has a PhD in nutritional physiology, and she teaches both the physical side — nervous system, spine, hips, yin tissues — and the yogic understanding of the body, covering nadis, prana, the five koshas, and the meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This isn't just theory; it's directly tied to which poses affect which organs and how to sequence a class with intention.
The teaching methodology sessions cover the practical skills you need to lead a class: how to give clear instructions, how to use your voice, how to modify poses, and how to read a room. By day five or six you'll be teaching a full Yin class under supervision, getting feedback from Katharina and Sandeep.
The location adds a lot. The school sits in a quiet residential part of Heimbach, near the edge of a national park. It's not a luxury resort — it's more like staying in a comfortable, welcoming family home. The days are full, but the surroundings make it easy to switch off. Meals are vegetarian, mostly regional, and eaten together at long tables. One guest mentioned the 'incredibly delicious food and funny stories at the table.' That's the vibe.
