50-Hour Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra Teacher Training in Costa Rica

Costa Rica · 8 days · From USD 1715

This is a 7-night, 50-hour Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra teacher training held at Casa Firefly in Cahuita, Costa Rica. The training is designed for yoga teachers and serious practitioners looking to add Yin and Nidra to their teaching toolkit or simply deepen their own practice. Each day follows a rhythm: a morning Yang practice to wake the body, morning workshops on anatomy and sequencing, a long lunch break and free time, then an afternoon Yin and Yoga Nidra practice to settle everything down.

The curriculum covers 23 foundational Yin postures, including how to guide students through supportive alignment and intelligent modifications. You’ll study Meridian Theory, the energetic map behind Yin Yoga, and dive into the science and philosophy of Yoga Nidra, sometimes called “yogic sleep.” The teaching practicums are a key part of the week—you’ll practice guiding your own classes and get feedback in a small group, which is where most people really build confidence.

What sets this training apart is the setting and the size. Casa Firefly is a small, jungle-edge property with a pool, a yoga shala, and just six guest suites, so the group is intimate—between 6 and 12 people. That means the teaching is personal, and the group tends to bond quickly. The schedule has built-in free time every afternoon, so you can head to the beach, read by the pool, or book a massage. The food is fresh and local, with vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and omnivore options at every meal.

Michelle LeHegarate is the lead teacher. She’s been practicing since 2009 and teaching for a decade, with over 7,000 teaching hours and more than 40 teacher trainings led. She specializes in Vinyasa, Yin, and Yoga Nidra, and also holds certifications in prenatal and restorative yoga. Her style is grounded and practical—she weaves traditional yoga philosophy, Sanskrit, and history into modern, accessible teaching, and she’s known for creating a safe, welcoming space for students of all levels.

The location is a real highlight. The property is a five-minute walk from the beach, and the yoga shala looks out into the trees where sloths sometimes hang around. Cahuita town, with its national park and coral reef, is a seven-minute drive away, and Puerto Viejo is a short day trip for food and local culture. It’s a working vacation as much as a training, and the balance is what makes it work.
