Kathmandu · 29 days · From USD 1723
The training covers Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa as the core styles, with exposure to Iyengar alignment, Kundalini, Sivananda, restorative, and other approaches. Philosophy classes draw on the Yoga Sutras and traditional texts; anatomy sessions cover the mechanics of movement and breath. You'll also learn the six Shatkarma cleansing techniques and spend time on mudras, bandhas, and mantra chanting.
Prakash, the lead teacher, holds an M.Sc. in Yogic Science and Human Consciousness and trained in ashrams across India before founding Nepal Yoga Home. He teaches a meditation technique he calls 'soul meditation', developed during years of practice along the Ganges at Haridwar. The rest of the teaching team includes specialists in different yoga lineages.
Daily structure runs roughly 7am to 8pm with breaks for meals, rest, and self-directed time. Morning sessions are asana-focused; afternoons alternate between anatomy, philosophy, and different yoga styles. Evenings close with more philosophy or quiet time. One day each week is set aside for celebration — chanting, dance, and group discussion.
The course is open to beginners as well as experienced practitioners. You don't need to arrive already flexible or advanced; the 'advanced' in the title refers to the depth and duration of the training, not a prerequisite skill level. Group sizes run from 2 to 30, but reviews suggest the norm is much smaller, with individual attention a consistent theme.
