6-Day Ubud Wellness Reset: Daily Yoga, Spa Treatments & Plant-Based Meals in Bali

Indonesia · 6 days · From EUR 1590

On arrival day you're met at Denpasar airport (or make your own way) and transferred to Ubud, about 90 minutes by car. Check-in is from 2pm, and the first yoga session is at 5pm, followed by a welcome dinner at 7pm where you meet the group and the facilitator. The next four full days each follow a similar shape but with different content. Morning yoga is at 7am, meditation at 8:15, breakfast at 9. From 10am to 1pm you're free — many people walk 10 minutes into Ubud centre for coffee, visit the palace, or just sit by the small pool. Afternoon sessions run 2–5pm and alternate between spa treatments (each guest gets three 60-minute treatments over the week) and mindfulness workshops — things like guided journaling, breathwork, or a sound healing session with singing bowls. On two afternoons there's a cultural excursion instead: one to Tirta Empul, a Hindu water temple where you can join a purification ritual; another to the Tegallalang rice terraces with a short walk and a stop at a local coffee plantation. Dinner is at 7pm every night, plant-based, and then the evening is yours. Day 6 ends with a 7am yoga session, breakfast, and check-out by 11am.

What makes this different from other Ubud wellness retreats is the combination of a central location and a fully inclusive spa programme. Adiwana Resort Jembawan sits on Jalan Jembawan, a quiet side street five minutes' walk from the Ubud Royal Palace and the main market — so you're not isolated in the jungle, you can step out for a meal or a browse whenever you like. The resort has a small spa (four treatment rooms), a pool, and a rooftop yoga shala. Because the retreat includes three spa treatments rather than one, you get a proper amount of hands-on time — not just a taster. The plant-based menu is also taken seriously: the kitchen prepares set menus with Indonesian staples like nasi campur with tempeh and urap vegetables, gado-gado with peanut sauce, and fresh fruit platters, plus Western dishes like buddha bowls and smoothies. It's not a juice cleanse; you eat properly.

The retreat is led by Adiwana Resort Jembawan's own wellness team, which is confirmed before your stay. The yoga teachers are local Balinese instructors who have trained in Hatha and Vinyasa, and the spa therapists are trained in traditional Balinese massage. Because the team can change, you won't know exactly who your teacher is until closer to the date, but the standard is consistent: small classes, hands-on adjustments, and English spoken throughout.

Ubud itself is the other main character. It's a town of around 30,000 people in the hills north of Denpasar, surrounded by rice terraces, rivers, and temples. The climate is cooler than the coast, and the streets are walkable. Mornings are often misty; afternoons can bring rain in the wet season (November–March). The retreat runs year-round, and each season has its advantages — dry season (April–October) is better for excursions, wet season is greener and quieter. Either way, you're a five-minute walk from the Ubud Water Palace, 15 minutes from the Monkey Forest, and 20 minutes from the Campuhan Ridge Walk, one of the best short hikes in Bali.

Accommodation is in the resort's private rooms, each with air conditioning, a king or twin beds, an en-suite bathroom with a rain shower, and a balcony or terrace. The property is built in a modern Balinese style with carved wood, stone, and a lot of greenery — it feels more like a boutique hotel than a retreat centre. There are two room categories: the Adiwana Room (entry-level, slightly smaller) and the Premier Room (larger, with a seating area and pool view). Both are comfortable, clean, and quiet at night. Solo travellers usually book a private room; couples can book a double at a small supplement. All rooms are non-smoking, and Wi-Fi is free throughout.
