This week in Kathmandu combines personalised Ayurvedic wellness with the valley's living cultural heritage. Mornings are for yoga, breathing practice and treatments chosen in your Ayurvedic consultation. On selected afternoons a professional guide takes you to some of the city's best-known sites.

Sightseeing is spread over two half-to-full days, travelling by private vehicle, with a rest day in between, so it never competes with your treatments. You visit Kathmandu Durbar Square and the surrounding old town, then the great stupas of Swayambhunath and Boudhanath. Day 4 has no sightseeing at all, just yoga, treatments, meditation and rest.

You stay six nights with full-board Ayurvedic vegetarian meals. The week ends with a wellness session on daily routines, nutrition, sleep and movement, and a closing consultation. Entrance fees to the included heritage sites, a private vehicle and airport pickup and drop-off are all part of the price.

Groups are small (1 to 10 guests), and the retreat runs all year.
