7-Day Costa Rica Eco Adventure Escape in Santa Teresa

The week is built around a mix of sea, land, and air experiences. You'll start with a guided surf session on the beach at Playa Carmen, which is a few minutes' walk from the hostel—this is for everyone from complete beginners to people who just want to get back on a board. Over the next days, you'll spend two days riding ATVs through dirt roads and jungle trails, including a run to the Montezuma waterfalls, and you'll do a discover scuba dive that needs no prior experience, plus a snorkeling trip to some secret local spots. There's also a full day boat trip to Tortuga Island, and a canopy tour that takes you above the rainforest.

Hostel La Posada is the base, a proper international surf camp with a pool, bar, communal kitchen, billiards, and ping-pong. It's located right in Playa Carmen, about 100 meters from the beach and a short walk from supermarkets, restaurants, and the main strip of Santa Teresa. The hostel is known for its laid-back social atmosphere—guests often end up sharing meals or hanging out in the common areas together—but you're also free to do your own thing.

The adventure package includes accommodation, daily breakfast, one dinner each night, and all the core activities listed. Your host, Desi, is on-site to help you organize extra options like Spanish lessons, horseback riding, massages, or additional dive trips if you want to fill your free time.
