7-Day Sound Healing Diploma & Vibrational Therapy Training in Kathmandu

7-Day Sound Healing Diploma & Vibrational Therapy Training in Kathmandu

Kathmandu · 7 days · From EUR 636

The training runs over seven days for a total of 35 hours of instruction. Mornings are mostly practical: how to hold and strike Himalayan singing bowls, how to work with crystal bowls, and how to use a gong without overwhelming the room. You'll spend a lot of time actually playing the instruments rather than just hearing about them. Afternoons move into the theory and session design side — chakra and energy balancing, aura cleansing, guided meditation, and how to assess where someone's energy is sitting before you start.

By the middle of the week you'll be building full sound baths. That means deciding which bowls to use, in what order, how long a session should run, where the quiet points go, and what to do if a client becomes emotional or uncomfortable. You'll also cover the ethical side of holding space: boundaries, consent, what you can and can't claim to treat, and how to keep a session grounded rather than theatrical. Every participant gets one Reiki or crystal healing session during the week, which is there so you know what it feels like to be on the table.

The teaching blends traditional Himalayan methods with contemporary sound therapy practice. That means you're learning the older, handed-down way of working with singing bowls alongside the more modern, client-facing approach you'd use if you were running sessions back home. The Institute of Natural Medicine is the only massage academy in Nepal with both national and international affiliations, so the diploma carries some weight beyond the course itself.

What makes this one different from a weekend sound bath workshop is the length and the diploma. Thirty-five hours over seven days is enough time to actually get competent with the instruments, not just have a nice afternoon with a bowl. You finish with a qualification you can put on a wall, and with enough practice behind you to run both one-on-one and group sessions. It also sits alongside the institute's other courses, so if you want to continue into Reiki Level One or Sound Healing Level 1, those are run by the same team.

The location is Thamel, the busy tourist quarter of Kathmandu — narrow streets, shops, guesthouses and temples, and a short ride from Boudhanath and Swayambhunath. It's not a quiet mountain retreat; it's a working city course. You'll be in a classroom for most of the day and out in Kathmandu in the evenings, which suits people who want the training to be the point of the trip rather than a backdrop to one.
