8-Day Beginner Surf and Wellness Escape in Tamraght, Morocco

The camp is built around the idea of sustainable progress and small groups, with a maximum of six students per ISA-certified instructor. This means lots of personal feedback and a safe, supportive environment for total beginners—about 80% of guests have never surfed before. You'll be provided with everything you need: a high-quality soft-top board and a wetsuit suited to the water temperature, so you can just turn up and start learning.

A typical day begins with a breakfast spread of fresh bread, Amlou (a local almond and argan oil dip), eggs, fruit, and mint tea on the terrace. Then it's into the vans to chase the best conditions of the day. Morning lessons focus on the fundamentals—from your first pop-up to reading waves—and are followed by a packed lunch on the sand. Afternoons are for practice, with a supervised free-surf session to build your confidence, or you can choose to relax and recharge.

The evenings are where the retreat really shines. Back at the surf house, you'll share traditional Moroccan dinners—think slow-cooked tagines, couscous, and harira soup—with your fellow guests, swapping stories from the day's waves. The vibe is social and friendly, designed to make solo travelers feel at home. Hosts Ahmed and his team (including co-host Ahmed) are deeply rooted in the local surf community and are passionate about sharing both the waves and the culture of Tamraght.
