8-Day Jungle Wellness & Fitness Reset in Palenque, Mexico

This retreat in Palenque, Chiapas, is a private wellness and fitness reset set in the middle of the rainforest. It's run by José Luis, a coach with 20 years of experience training divers in cave and technical diving, who now applies those skills to strength, breathwork, and cold exposure. You get a coach who's in every session with you, not a retreat brand with hired instructors, and the approach is entirely about meeting your body where it is.

A typical day starts around 6 AM with movement or breathwork, followed by breakfast. Mid-morning is the main session—training or recovery block—then lunch together. Afternoons are yours for excursions like the Roberto Barrios waterfalls, Misol-Ha, or the Palenque ruins, or just rest by the pool. Everything is optional, and the schedule is built around your energy and needs after a day-one conversation.

The location is three kilometers from the Palenque archaeological site, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The property, Villas Adriana, is a family-run venture with twelve rustic rooms, a pool, and a restaurant called Selva Cafe. It's not a resort; it's real jungle with birds at 5 AM and lizards on the wall, but that's part of the reset.
