8-Day Surf and Yoga Wellness Retreat in the Nicaraguan Jungle

Eden on the Chocolata is a small, family-run eco-lodge on a garden property along the road La Chocolata. The retreat runs for eight days and seven nights, with a schedule that balances active mornings and slower afternoons. Each day starts with a vinyasa yoga class and a meditation or breathwork session, followed by breakfast. Mornings are also the time for the included surf trips—you head to a beach with a teacher, board, and transport all sorted. Afternoons are mostly free for you to explore nearby beaches, visit the town of San Juan del Sur, or book a massage. Later in the day there is a yin yoga class and then a three-course dinner. A few afternoons have special activities like an ice bath, sound healing, a cacao ceremony, or a Temazcal sweat lodge experience, depending on the week’s schedule. The retreat team meets you on arrival to learn what you want from the week, but most activities are optional. The property uses solar power and sources much of its food locally, including from its own garden. Surf lessons suit all levels, and the retreat includes three surf trips in the package. The closest beach is a short walk through the woods, and two beaches are within walking distance. The town of San Juan del Sur is a ten-minute drive or a scenic thirty-minute walk.
