8-Day Surf & Yoga Retreat on Portugal's Silver Coast

Portugal · 8 days · From USD 690

Surfcamp 360 is set in Santa Cruz, a town on Portugal's Silver Coast about 50 minutes north of Lisbon. The camp is a short walk from the beach, which is where most of the surfing happens. The coastline here picks up Atlantic swell year-round, with beach breaks that suit beginners and improvers — long, gentle rollers in summer and punchier waves in autumn and winter. Lessons are group-based and run most mornings, with a break for lunch back at the camp. Boards and wetsuits are provided as part of the surf package, so you don't need to bring your own.

Afternoons are typically free until the yoga session. You can walk into town, sit on the beach, or head back to the camp to rest. The yoga classes are held at the camp itself, often on a deck or in a studio space, and run for around 60–75 minutes. They're not hot yoga or hardcore vinyasa — the focus is on stretching out shoulders and hips, working on balance, and using breath to wind down. If you've never done yoga before, the teacher will show you modifications; if you're experienced, you'll still get something out of it.

What makes this retreat different from a standard surf camp is the balance. A lot of surf camps treat yoga as an optional add-on — one class a week, squeezed in. Here it's built into the daily schedule, and the two activities are treated as part of the same thing. That suits people who want to surf hard but also want to be able to walk the next day.

The instructor team is confirmed before your stay, and the camp has been running surf and yoga weeks in Santa Cruz for years. They know the local breaks and which ones work for different levels, and they'll move the group around if one spot is too crowded or the conditions aren't right. The vibe is informal — you'll be surfing with a mix of solo travellers, couples, and small groups, mostly from Europe, with a wide age range from mid-20s to 50s.

Food is provided on-site and tailored to the group, including dietary needs. Expect simple, filling meals — breakfast before surfing, lunch after, and dinner in the evening. If you have specific requirements, tell them at the time of booking and they'll confirm what they can do.

Accommodation is at the camp itself, with three room options: a twin shared room, a dorm, and a private room. The camp is a short walk from the beach, and the town of Santa Cruz has supermarkets, cafés, and a few restaurants if you want to eat out. Lisbon is an easy day trip if you want a change of scene on a rest day, but most people stay put.
