8 Day Wellness Escape with Daily Yoga and Mindful Workshops in Canggu, Bali

Surf and Yoga Bali sits in Padonan, in the Batu Bolong area of Canggu. It's a deliberately small retreat center — just seven guest rooms and a maximum of fourteen guests — tucked at the end of an alley behind the rice fields. The grounds are filled with spiritual statues, water fountains, tropical flowers, and a pond with fish, so it feels more like someone's sanctuary than a hotel.

Yoga is the heart of the week. Mornings start with an energizing practice in the bamboo shala, a 60-square-meter space on the lawn shaded by trees. Evenings wind down with a gentler, restorative stretch. All mats, blocks, bolsters, and belts are provided. The teachers are certified and rotate through different styles, so you get variety across the week.

Beyond yoga, the retreat includes weekly mindful workshops, which could be anything from a reiki circle to sound healing, depending on the week. You'll also get a free cooking class and one t-shirt or water bottle to take home. Breakfast and dinner are freshly prepared on site, with lots of vegan, gluten-free, and sugar-free dishes.

The point of this place is to unplug. Wifi is available but you won't miss it. The pool is 12 meters long and looks out over the garden. There are loungers for reading, hammocks in the shade, and the sounds of birds and palm trees throughout the day. If you want to explore, Canggu's hustle and bustle is a short drive away, and the beaches at Pererenan, Echo Beach, and Batu Bolong are close enough to walk.
