Rishikesh · 30 days · From USD 701
The 300-hour curriculum at Mimamsa Yogshala is structured to move you beyond basic sequencing into real mastery. Days are full and start early: cleansing practices and breathwork at 5:00 AM, followed by asana sessions, philosophy lectures, anatomy, and teaching methodology. You'll rotate through Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha, Kundalini, and Yin, so by the end of the month you'll have a broad toolkit of styles to draw on as a teacher.
A defining feature is the therapeutic focus. Ayurveda classes are co-taught with a practicing Panchakarma doctor, which means you're learning how to adapt yoga for real conditions, not just textbook cases. The Reiki Level 1 and 2 training is embedded in the month, so you add energy work to your teaching repertoire. The final week is dedicated to examined teaching practicums — you'll lead whole classes in pranayama, asana, and meditation, with feedback from senior teachers.
The location reinforces the learning. The ashram is in Swargashram, a short walk from the Ganga and the Ram Jhula suspension bridge. You're in the middle of Rishikesh's yogic heart, with the Himalayan foothills as a backdrop. The property itself is simple and functional — rooms with attached bathrooms, a yoga shala, a garden, and a library. It's not a luxury resort, and you'll be cleaning your own room, but that's part of the traditional ashram experience.
Manoj Rawat, who grew up around the ashrams of Rishikesh and trained at the Bihar School of Yoga, leads the school. He's joined by a team of teachers who cover the different styles and subjects. Students in reviews consistently mention the teachers' generosity with their knowledge and the supportive community atmosphere.
