The 50-hour Aerial Yoga Teacher Training runs over eight days. Mornings typically start in the oceanfront shala with hammock practice: learning to invert safely, how to hang and support your weight, and the stretches and strength work that the hammock makes possible. From there the focus shifts to teaching — how to break a posture down, what to say, where to stand, how to spot someone who is stuck upside down and needs help getting out.
What separates this from a generic online aerial certification is the setting and the kit. You are training in a purpose-built open-air shala with the ocean in front of you, and the resort has a second indoor shala in the Lotus temple for when you need a different space. Udara has become a known address in Bali for aerial work specifically because of these rooms.
The teaching team is led by Martina Reinbold and Milena Scheuerpflug. Reviews from past students repeatedly single out Martina for explaining things in detail and repeating them without impatience, and for setting clear goals for the group. Groups are mixed in nationality and level — past intakes have included people from France, Poland, Lithuania, Russia, Norway, Australia, the UK, the Philippines and across Indonesia.
Alongside the 50-hour course, Udara runs two shorter trainings: a 25-hour Aerial Yin & Restorative Yoga Teacher Training over four days, using low-hanging hammocks for supported, slower work, and a 25-hour Aerial Pilates Teacher Training over four days, combining classical Pilates with the hammock for core strength, stability, balance and alignment. All three are held at the same resort.
Outside training hours the resort runs daily classes in various yoga styles, daily sound healing ceremonies, and events such as cacao ceremonies, Kundalini sessions and breathwork. The spa has a water healing pool, Finnish sauna, herbal steam room, warm Jacuzzi, cold plunge and ice bath, and there is a meditation cave on site. Seseh Beach is on the doorstep and Canggu is a 15-minute drive.
