Home › Retreats › Aerial Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh: 13-Day Intensive
Rishikesh · 13 days · From USD 301
The days here are structured around practice in the morning and theory in the afternoon. A typical timetable starts with a Hatha yoga and pranayama session at sunrise, followed by breakfast, then a core-strengthening class to prep for aerial work. After lunch, you move into aerial yoga practice, flow, and sequencing, with time set aside for self-practice. Evenings usually include a lecture on anatomy, teaching methodology, or philosophy, and sometimes kirtan or meditation.
What makes this course different is the aerial component. You’ll spend time out of the hammock doing version of familiar poses like down dog, camel, and warrior, but also inversions like headstand and shoulder stand, all supported by the silk. The teaching covers how to set up a hammock, safety checks, and how to adjust for students, so you leave with the skills to run your own aerial class.
The instructors come with different backgrounds. Arjun Sharma, the lead aerial instructor, trained with David Greeves and Ana Cerrato, and has taught in Delhi, Dubai, and Macao, plus choreographed for Bollywood musicals. Monika ji, who runs the pranayama and hatha side, has an MA in yogic science and is an E-RYT 500. The rest of the team handles anatomy, philosophy, and asana adjustments.
Rishikesh itself is a big part of the pull. The town has been a hub for yoga for decades, and the training is based on Himalayan teachings, adapted with modern techniques. Because the school is close to the Ganga, you can hear the river from the practice space, and the surrounding hills are good for walks. The atmosphere is friendly and small, which makes it easy to get to know teachers and other students.
