Algarve Weight Loss & Fitness Retreat

Days here are built around training and food, not free time. You'll be up for activity before breakfast, with sessions moving between the villa gym, the pool area and the beach at Meia Praia. Coastal walks take in the headland at Ponte de Piedade and the stretch of coastline around Lagos. The gym opens directly onto the outdoor pool, so the space between a session and a swim is about ten steps.

Everyone gets a health assessment at the start of the course. Note that the body analysis used on other FitFarms courses isn't run in Portugal — instead there's an initial health assessment, and you can opt in to scientific blood testing during your stay if you want hard numbers to work from.

The accommodation is a contemporary villa and luxury apartment, minimalist in design. Bedrooms either have a private balcony or open onto a garden, and all of them face into the sun at some point during the day. There are sunbeds around the pool for the gaps between sessions.

What separates this from a general fitness holiday is the format: a set Saturday-to-Saturday course with a defined weight loss and fitness programme, a hostess on site throughout (Jane, who also delivers the massage therapies), and an optional aftercare programme once you go home. That aftercare is delivered under the guidance of an ITV Good Morning health expert.

Free airport transfers run at 2pm and 7pm on arrival day, covering the 50-minute drive from Faro to the Algarve coastline. All courses run Saturday to Saturday. A £100 discount applies to bookings made before 6th October at 10pm, taken off the balance payment.
