Altitude HYROX Training Camp in the Swiss Alps – Chalet Les Rahas

Switzerland · 6 days

Chalet Les Rahas sits at over 1,500 metres in Grimentz, Valais, Switzerland, and it's the first HYROX-focused training camp in the Swiss Alps. The training happens on an open-air terrace with a full functional setup: Concept2 RowERG, Concept2 SkiERG, wall balls, functional weights, and dedicated mobility and conditioning zones. Sessions are structured like HYROX — rowing and skiing intervals, wall ball work, loaded carries and conditioning — but everything is tailored to you, whether you're preparing for a race, building an off-season base, or organising a private camp for a team.

The altitude is a real part of the programme, not a marketing line. At 1,500m+, your heart and lungs work harder from the first session, and over the course of a camp you adapt to thinner air, improve how efficiently you use oxygen, and build the aerobic base that matters in longer HYROX efforts. The camp works with individual athletes, training groups, elite athletes, and coaches bringing their own teams. You can bring your own coach or ask for an introduction to local trainers. Duration, number of athletes, accommodation setup and training requirements are all agreed upfront, and the camp is built around that.

Recovery is taken as seriously as the training. The property has a cold room for inflammation and adaptation, a sauna for heat exposure, a hammam for steam and muscle relaxation, and a hot tub outside under the Alpine sky. The idea is simple: you train hard, then you recover properly so you can back it up the next day. Over a multi-day camp that's the difference between arriving tired on day four and still hitting good numbers.

Where you stay is part of the package. Les Rahas has premium apartments and chalets designed for comfort and recovery, with panoramic terraces looking out at the Valais peaks. It's calm and quiet, set in one of the most beautiful alpine villages in the region. Direct mountain access means you can add trail running, hiking or winter alpine activities alongside your training if you want. In summer there are trails straight from the village; in winter it's a proper alpine base.

This isn't a fixed-date retreat with a set schedule you slot into. It's a custom camp: you contact Florent Ponsonnet at florent@miggins.ch with your group size, dates, training requirements and preferred accommodation, and you get a personalised offer. That flexibility is the main difference from a standard fitness retreat — you're not buying a pre-set week, you're designing the training block you actually need.
