Amalfi Coast Yoga & Italian Food Retreat: Vinyasa Over the Tyrrhenian Sea

Amalfi Coast · 6 days · From EUR 4320

The retreat runs September 13–18, 2026, based in Praiano. Days follow a loose pattern: meditation at 7am over the sea, yoga at 7:30, breakfast at 9, then an excursion or free time, an afternoon yoga session on some days, and dinner at 7:30. The exact schedule shifts with weather and with what's booked, but the shape of the week is morning practice, daytime exploring and eating, evening meal together.

The excursions are specific. You'll spend a day in Amalfi starting with a tour of a family-run lemon farm and tastings — lemons being the region's signature flavour — plus time to walk the town. There's a 'gastrotrekking' day: a walk through the villages above the cliffs with a guided foraging component to collect ingredients, followed by a cooking class and lunch. A pizza-making class is included. One full day is a private boat trip to Positano, with free time in town, then the return journey stopping for swims in hidden bays and a look at grottos cut into the cliffs. There's also a winery visit with a tasting dinner, and a spa treatment is built into the package.

What separates this from a generic Amalfi yoga week is the food access. Meals come from a mix of award-winning restaurants, small family kitchens, and nearby producers — the dinners include multi-course tasting menus and regional specialties, and some tastings happen at the source, like the rocky vineyards where local wine is made. On-site meals are served in Hotel Margherita's dining room or on the sea-view terrace. Breakfast and dinner are daily; selected lunches are covered as well. Alcohol is not included in the price.

Jen Fisher has over 15 years of teaching experience and more than 25 retreats behind her, mostly through Eat, Pray, Move, the company she's partnered with on this trip. She has led retreats in Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Iceland, Spain, and France. Her classes here are vinyasa-based and built around breath and movement, with modifications offered — but she's upfront that this is best suited to people with at least six months of consistent practice who are comfortable with flow. The two afternoon classes are restorative and held in a lush garden over the sea, meant to settle you before dinner.

Praiano itself is quieter than Positano or Amalfi, and that's the point of basing here. It sits between some of the coast's best coves, so swimming and beach time are easy to fit in around the schedule. Hotel Margherita has a panoramic terrace, a swimming pool with views of the sea, the coastline and the Li Galli islands, sun loungers, citrus trees, and a short walk down to the beach. Rooms are decorated in classic Amalfi style — traditional furniture, majolica tiles — and all of them have sea-view balconies. If you want more time, there's an optional pre-retreat add-on: arrive on the 12th and hike the Path of the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei) with Jen on the morning of the 13th, a roughly 6 km trail from Bomerano to Nocelle with a steep descent of about 1,700 steps. That extra night is booked separately and starts at $425.
