Amanpuri Wellness Immersion: Phuket Beachfront Yoga & Holistic Retreat

Thailand · 8 days · From USD 3500

Amanpuri occupies a hillside of coconut palms just north of Surin Beach, with its own stretch of Pansea Beach at the bottom of the property. The resort opened in 1988 as Aman's first hotel and is still run by the group, now with 40 pavilions and suites plus a set of multi-bedroom villas. The wellness programme here is centred on a standalone Wellness Centre with two dedicated treatment rooms, a Pilates studio, a gym, and a yoga pavilion positioned so the sea view runs the length of your mat.

A typical week runs Sunday to Sunday. Yoga classes are held twice daily — a stronger vinyasa or hatha flow in the early morning, and a restorative or yin session in the late afternoon. Both are led by resident instructors who work with small groups, so beginners get hands-on adjustments and experienced practitioners get more challenging sequences. Between classes you can book personal training in the gym, join a guided pranayama session, or take one of the resort's daily activities: a Thai cooking class, a guided walk to the nearby village, or an early boat trip to a snorkelling spot off the west coast.

The spa menu is the reason many guests come back. Aman Spa treatments draw on Thai, Chinese and Indian traditions, and the signature massages run 60 to 90 minutes using oils blended on-site. There's also a dedicated range of holistic therapies — sound healing, reiki, and Ayurvedic consultations — bookable alongside or instead of the standard massage menu.

What separates this from a standard Phuket wellness package is the property itself. Amanpuri is not a large resort — there's no loud poolside bar or evening entertainment, and the beach is shared with only one other hotel. You eat well, sleep well, and spend most of the week within a short walk of your room. Food is handled by the nutrition team, with menu options that lean toward lighter Thai and Mediterranean dishes, though you can order whatever you like from the main restaurants.

Getting there is straightforward: Phuket International Airport is about 25 minutes by car, and the resort arranges transfers. Most guests stay seven nights, though three- and five-night versions of the programme are available on request depending on the season.
